EzAlt (“we”) provides AI alt text generation for WordPress websites. This policy explains what is processed when you use the EzAlt plugin and the related service at https://ezalt.ez-site.com.

What we process

When you generate alt text, the plugin may send:

Image content, encoded for HTTPS transfer, plus filename and MIME type
Your WordPress site URL and site language
A Freemius install ID, when one is available
A unique request ID, so a retry is not charged twice
Optional context from the parent post: title and categories. For a WooCommerce product, also SKU and attribute values. Product price is not sent.

Credit balance checks send the site URL and Freemius install ID. Clicking Buy Credits, before checkout opens, sends the site URL, Freemius user ID, Freemius install ID when available, and the selected plan ID. The plugin does not send card numbers.

If you submit the in-plugin feedback form, we receive the message you type, an optional reply email, the site URL, Freemius install ID when available, and the WordPress, PHP, and plugin versions. We use that only to read the feedback and, if you left an email, to reply.

Why

We use this information to generate alt text, keep credits accurate, prevent abuse and double charges, operate the service, and respond to feedback you choose to send. We do not sell personal information.

OpenRouter

Image data received by the EzAlt service is forwarded to OpenRouter, which routes the request to a vision model. OpenRouter is used only to produce the requested alt text. Their policy is at openrouter.ai/privacy.

Freemius

Optional credit packs are checked out with Freemius. Their policy is at freemius.com/privacy. Freemius is not required to use the free starter credits.

Retention and security

Request logs and related metadata may be kept for billing, debugging, security, and abuse prevention, and only for as long as that work reasonably requires. Traffic uses HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

Children

EzAlt is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
